Google Apps Passwords have changed! Effective immediately!

Teachers and students are now required to log into Google Apps with a new password.

Teachers
To access your Google Apps account, you will no longer use your district password. Effective immediately, you will need to know your District Employee ID number to access your account.
  • Your password is now 8 digits-- "sb" followed by your District Employee ID number.
Example: sb123456
  • If your employee ID number is less than 6 digits, then you will add zeros before the ID number until your password is 8 characters long.
Example: sb012345
  • You will then be forced to change your password. This password must be at least 8 characters long.
Your Employee ID # can be found on your paycheck, your salary notification letter or your badge (if printed in the past 2 years).
Click the link below to access your Google Apps account:
Please be sure to log into Google Apps immediately to create a secure password.

Students
All student passwords will also be 8 digits - "sb" followed by their lunch number (local student ID).
  • Example for elementary:
lightbuz000 (lightbuz000@e.mysbisd.com)
sb123456
  • Example for secondary:
dynamnap000 (dynamnap000@mysbisd.com)
sb234567

  • Students will not be allowed to change their passwords.
  • Students will continue to access the Google Apps start page from the links on the Library Resources page.
We made these changes to:
  • allow teachers/students access to their Google Apps accounts without having to log into the portal, which will speed up the login process.
  • allow teachers/students to log into Google Chromebooks and sync their Chrome settings seamlessly.
  • allow teachers/students to set up Chrome to sync on all of the devices they use.
  • allow students to set up their district email account on their personal devices.
This password change only affects Google Apps.

Donated Technology Equipment

Many District employees have requested or are planning to request technology donations from organizations such as DonorsChoose.org. These requests have raised questions concerning the district’s donation/gift policy.

Board Policy CDC (Local) addresses Grants from Private Sources.

Clarification of the donation/gifting policy follows:

Technology Equipment

Here are the general guidelines:
  • Technology Equipment donated or gifted to teachers or campuses is district property.

  • Donated/gifted technology equipment must conform to district standards for interoperability, service and support. The Technology Buyer’s Guide lists compatible equipment. http://cms.springbranchisd.com/365geek/BuyersGuide/tabid/4515/Default.aspx

  • Donated/gifted technology equipment must be asset tagged, inventoried and, if applicable, configured or imaged.

Non-Technology Equipment
All Non-Technology related equipment which is donated/gifted to the district must also comply with the above mentioned Board Policy CDC (Local) Grants from Private sources.

Eduphoria Compatibility Issues With Internet Explorer

We have a new version of Eduphoria and it does not work with Internet Explorer (IE) as currently configured. Here's how you fix it:

Follow these steps if you are having problems with Eduphoria saying you have enabled Compatibility view (see screen shot below).

1. Go to Tools  and click on Compatibility View settings.

2. Uncheck the middle box then click Close.

3. You will then see the Eduphoria login screen.

Alternatively, Chrome, Firefox or Safari may also be used when accessing Eduphoria. If you decide to use one of these browsers, make sure you have the most current version installed.

Top 5 Reasons to Save to Your SAN Folder (H Drive)

1)   Data will not be lost due to hardware failures. Ex: if your computer dies.

2)   Data is backed up nightly. This makes it easy to recover recent versions of files.

3)   Data is always available when away from your campus or office. Ex: Through VPN and
        SBPortal.

4)   Data is recoverable if you accidentally delete something.

5)   Protected data gives you “Peace of Mind.”
