Approved Vendors

For Technology Items, you normally go to the Buyer's Guide to find what you're looking for. However, there are some items that are not listed on the Buyer's Guide. For those, you must go through an Approved Vendor. Why? To ensure compliance with state law and policy. Also, you cannot just go to any store, buy an item and expect to be reimbursed. Reimbursements are difficult to receive because the reimbursement process raises red flags with auditors. Therefore purchases should be made using a purchase order.

Often people think that if a vendor is registered in MUNIS that they are an Approved Vendor. This is not always the case. For Technology Items not on the Buyer's Guide, go to the Buyer's Guide and access the Technology Approved Vendor list.

If none of the above vendors on the Technology Approved Vendor list have the item you are looking for, you can find the entire Approved Vendor list at the SBISD Purchasing Website. Use these steps to access the list:

How to find an Approved Vendor:

1. Go to the SBISD Purchasing Website.

2. Click on For Employees.

3. Click on Approved Vendors.

4. Click on either Vendors by Category/Contract or Vendors by Vendor Name.

5. This will open a PDF of the Approved Vendor list.

6. Also. Directly beneath the links for the Approved Vendor list is the list of Purchasing Cooperative Memberships.
